Yemeni Forum in Belgium Participates in European Parliament Event on Democratic Transitions and Human Rights

The Yemeni Forum in Belgium participated in an event held inside the European Parliament titled: “Democratic Transitions, Human Rights, and Geopolitics in South Asia: Challenges and Future Prospects.” The event was organized by the Hand in Hand Foundation and hosted by Member of the European Parliament (MEP) Danilo Della Valle. During the event, Mr. Hashem Wahban, head of the delegation for the Yemeni Forum in Belgium (Yemeni Forum in Belgium vzw), met with several MEPs who organized the event. He discussed the humanitarian and human rights situation in Yemen with them and requested the organization of a special event dedicated to Yemen. The parliament members promised to consider the proposal and discuss it within the agenda of upcoming events. Furthermore, Mr. Malik Al-Qahtani stated that the participation of Yemenis today in an event focused on Asia reflects the Yemeni community’s keenness to be present on international platforms and to convey Yemen’s voice and humanitarian issues in various international forums. The Forum’s delegation emphasized that such meetings represent an opportunity to strengthen communication with European decision-makers, shedding light on the suffering of the Yemeni people and the necessity of supporting humanitarian and human rights efforts.
